Would you like to drive traffic from your Facebook business page to a specific link outside of Facebook? With the NEW Call-to-Action(CTA) button for Facebook, you can now have a CTA button in your Facebook header that will link to your website, an app you created or even your shop page!
“Over the course of a three-week test, the Sign Up call-to-action button delivered a 2.5x higher conversion rate versus other comparable social placements aimed to drive new user acquisition.” — Brian Kim, Director of Acquisition, Dollar Shave Club
Lets get started with adding this feature to your Facebook page. You will need to set this feature up on the desktop version of Facebook. Creating a Call-to-Action button will get people to take action from your Facebook fan page to where you want them to go, example your shop page on your own website, newsletter signup page or more! Here are the button options you will be able to choose from:
Below is a step by step guide to create yours on your business page today! I have a BONUS on how to get creative after the 3 step process below.
STEP 1. Sign-in to your account and select your business page from your desktop. We will show you an example using the “Sign Up” button because I want fans/followers to Sign Up for the valuable content I provide through email. You will notice in the top header a “Create Call-to-Action” button. Click it!
STEP 2. Choose a button type and input the desired link of where you would like your audience to go. Mobile Website is optional if you have created a separate mobile version site. For most, that input field will not apply. Press NEXT.
STEP 3. You will be asked to choose a destination for people using an IOS device, your options are “Website” or “App”. In this example I chose a “Website” Link and it showed me the link I entered. Press NEXT.
YOU’RE DONE! Your first “Sign Up” button is created!
Facebook also provides statistics for that buttons engagement. A great way to test and find out what works best with your audience!
When you hover over the sign up area, a mini pop up appears providing this weeks engagement. So what are you waiting for? Go create that button now!
Take it one step further and create a specific art image for your Facebook Cover Header speaking to what the Call-to-Action button will provide. Here is example of the one i created for www.facebook.com/ShaunAyala
